Dehydration can reduce saliva production, leading to dry mouth, which increases the risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially if you’re spending time in the sun or participating in physical activities. Water not only keeps you hydrated but also helps wash away food particles and bacteria from your teeth.
Summer is synonymous with ice cream, fizzy drinks, and sugary snacks, which can harm your teeth. Opt for healthier alternatives like fresh fruits, vegetables, and cheese. These snacks provide essential nutrients and stimulate saliva production, which naturally cleanses your mouth and reduces the risk of cavities.
It’s easy to skip brushing and flossing when you’re out of your regular routine, such as when travelling or attending summer events. However, maintaining your oral hygiene routine is crucial. Pack a travel-sized toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss if you’re on the go. We love the Curaprox travel set, which has all the tools you’ll need for your holiday. Aim to brush at least twice a day and floss daily to remove plaque and food particles that can lead to dental issues.
We have some bittersweet news to share. Hana will leave us over the summer as she is due to start her Dental Therapist Course in September. Ellie will also be moving on after five years with us as she works towards becoming a midwife. While we are sad to see them go, we are incredibly proud of their achievements and excited for the new journeys they are about to embark on.
We are also excited to welcome some fantastic new members to our team.
Please join us in welcoming Rosie, our new Client Care Ambassador, Bryony, our new Dental Assistant, and Maisey, our new Trainee Dental Nurse. Rosie brings a wealth of experience in customer service and is passionate about ensuring our clients have the best possible experience. Bryony, with her extensive background in dental care, is ready to provide excellent support to our dental team. Maisey, who is embarking on her journey as a Trainee Dental Nurse, is eager to learn and grow with us.
We are also thrilled to announce that Neha, our new hygienist, will be joining our team later this July. After completing her initial induction and training at Biddulph, she will be available to serve you at both of our practices.
We appreciate your patience while we have been searching for the right person to join our team. Your understanding and support have been invaluable. If you have missed a regular gum health appointment during this period, please rest assured that we will contact you son to offer you some convenient dates to reschedule.
We are confident that their skills, enthusiasm, and dedication will be tremendous assets to our team. As we bid a fond farewell to Hana and Ellie, let's also give Rosie, Bryony, Maisey and Neha a warm welcome and support them as they settle into their new roles.
